JOHN BUSH NEW YORK 2025
“As a filmmaker, I attempt to capture the light
that quiets the mind and opens the heart.”
John Bush is a filmmaker drawn to the sacred. His work is
shaped by a contemplative eye and a lifelong interest in the meeting place between image, spirit, and story.
Based in New York City, John began making films in 2000 after
a long creative tenure leading Illuminations - a visionary design company. His work has been broadcast internationally, released
in theaters, featured at museums and shown in film festivals from
Rome to Bangkok.
The Yatra Trilogy—Dharma River, Prajna Earth (narrated by Sharon Stone), and Vajra Sky Over Tibet—was presented by PBS as Journey Into Buddhism, airing nationally as a primetime miniseries. Vajra Sky Over Tibet received the endorsement of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and was shown during his official events in over a dozen cities.
With Into the Heart of India, John returns to a place of long personal connection—offering a cinematic pilgrimage created with reverence, stillness, and the hope of sharing something timeless.
